Teen Patti has 12 possible three-card sequences: A-K-Q is the highest, followed on most tables by A-2-3, then K-Q-J down to 2-3-4 (or 2-3-4 above A-2-3 if your table treats A-2-3 as lowest). A pure sequence has all three cards in one suit and outranks any ordinary sequence.
The sequence list, high to low
| Position | Sequence | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | A-K-Q | Highest on all tables |
| 2 | A-2-3 | Second on most tables; lowest on some |
| 3 | K-Q-J | |
| 4 | Q-J-10 | |
| 5 | J-10-9 | |
| 6 | 10-9-8 | |
| 7 | 9-8-7 | |
| 8 | 8-7-6 | |
| 9 | 7-6-5 | |
| 10 | 6-5-4 | |
| 11 | 5-4-3 | |
| 12 | 4-3-2 | Lowest (unless A-2-3 is ranked lowest) |
K-A-2 is not a sequence in standard rules — you can’t wrap around the ace.
Pure sequence vs sequence
- Pure sequence: same suit, e.g. 9♥ 10♥ J♥. Each run has 4 suited versions → 48 total.
- Sequence: mixed suits, e.g. 9♥ 10♣ J♦. Each run has 60 mixed versions → 720 total.
Any pure sequence beats any normal sequence. Within the same type, use the list above.

How often do sequences appear?
You’ll be dealt some sequence about 1 in 28 hands (pure or normal combined: 768 of 22,100). A pure sequence is about 1 in 460. See probability.
