Thirteen playing cards arranged in sequences and sets with a joker on a wooden table

Rummy is a draw-and-discard card game in which you arrange your cards into sequences (runs of the same suit) and sets (same rank); Indian Rummy uses 13 cards and needs two sequences, one of them pure, to declare. It remains completely legal to play at home or in free apps, but online rummy for real money has been banned across India since 1 May 2026, and the big cash-rummy brands switched off cash games in August 2025.
